Dear friends and visitors of this site, my name is Becky Austin, and I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States of America. I am 35 years old now and have been an International Red Cross volunteer for 18 years.
I initiated this virtual tribute to the Red Cross in hope of spreading the cause of our great family of volunteers and professionals that have come together around the ideals of the IRC that have now come into its third century, and have never been as strong, but also never so endangered from the selfishness of the modern world. Our time has seen generations of people who just don’t care about other people’s suffering. I want to change that trend and remind us all who important and larger than life the work of the Red Cross is.
On this page, you will find the general information about our organization but also the personal stories of those who volunteer and help millions of people who can’t help themselves. Read some of those amazing stories and support the values and work of the Red Cross!
